Celine Dion is pregnant

Celine Dion has been open in her fight to get pregnant a second time. After one false start, it's official: Dion is having twins!

Celine Dion is expecting twins

After one miscarriage, six in-vitro fertilization attempts and rounds of acupuncture, Dion, 42, is 14 weeks pregnant with twins and she and hubby Rene Angelil, 68, are over the moon.

"I feel like I've been pregnant more than a year," Dion told Le Journal de Montreal. "I never gave up. But I can tell you that it was physically and emotionally exhausting… It's stressful but I'm relaxing. I look at my little belly. I do almost nothing. If you tell me I have to stay in bed, I will stay in bed until November, when the babies are born. To bring them into the world, there's nothing more important than that. It's incredible."

The five-time Grammy winner, who is from a large family herself, was quite open about the effort it took for her to conceive her first son, Rene-Charles, now 9. She has been equally open about her desire to have more children, if possible.

Then, last summer, after news of her pregnancy hit the media circuit, Celine Dion decided to come clean and share her excitement. That backfired, however, when she lost the baby and her miscarriage became front page news.

As many of us know, most moms-to-be wait three months, which is why celebs often deny baby rumors, but it's not easy when the media is always watching.

Just ask Mariah Carey!

Though crushed by the loss, Dion went on Oprah a few months later and shared her experience and her refusal to give up.

"It's life. You know?" Celine Dion said, "A lot of people go through this, but it's not being told because it's not in the newspaper."

Dion's perseverance is paying off. Word is the expectant parents will learn the sex of their twins next month.

SheKnows sends Dion and Angelil congrats and best of luck in the coming months.

Celine Dion hospitalized to prep for birth of twins

Celine Dion has checked into a Florida hospital to prepare for the birth of her twins.

Celine Dion

Celine Dion is taking no chances with her pregnancy -- the singer has already checked into a Florida hospital on the advice of her doctors.

The hospital issued the following statement with the approval of Celine's camp:

"Ms. Celine Dion has been admitted to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida for observation at the recommendation of her doctors. She has been admitted to prevent the early delivery of her babies, which is the standard of care for any patient with twin pregnancy in this clinical setting."

The measure is purely preventative, the hospital says, "done to ensure the patient can be in close contact with their doctors and clinical resources, leading up to their birth."

Dion's husband and manager René Angélil says the couple does not have a scheduled C-section planned. "There is nothing scheduled," he said. "We do not have a date."

Celine and René have a son together, and sadly suffered a miscarriage and other fertility issues before her current pregnancy.

Celine Dion has given birth to twin boys!

Celine Dion has given birth to twin boys after years of trying to become a mother again. The renowned singer has welcomed two baby boys into her family, who join their nine-year-old brother Rene Charles.

Celine Dion

In what reads more like a Grammy acceptance speech than a birth announcement, Celine's longtime OBGYN Dr. Ronald Ackerman released the following statement:

"As coach and confidant for over 12 years for Celine and Rene, it is an honor and privilege to make this announcement on behalf of Celine and Rene. At St. Mary's Medical Center, at 11:11 and 11:12am, Celine gave birth to 2 healthy baby boys weighing 5lbs 10 ounces and 5 pounds 4 ounces. The cesarean section was performed by the team and Dr. Ruel Stoessel, Celine's obstetrician, and high risk doctor and obstetricians Dr. Steven Pliskow and Dr. Joshua Ackerman, my son. I would like to thank Dr. Stoessel, Celine's high risk obstetrician who availed his high level of expertise to enable us to reach this joyous day. I would also like to thank Dr. Zev Rosenwaks for his tireless fertility treatments which afforded Celine and Rene with this opportunity, and to Dr. Pete Garcia, our pediatric physician who played an enormous role in her care. It should be known worldwide that this team agrees that Celine and Rene are clearly one of the most caring and kind individuals that they have ever cared for. Today is not the end, but the beginning of 2 new lives."

Celine Dion reportedly underwent six in vitro fertilization attempts and experienced at least one miscarriage before carrying this pregnancy to a successful birth.

"We believed in trying one more time," she told French magazine Paris Match. "If [the doctor] had told me that my body was too tired, I would have given up."

The babies were born in West Palm Beach, FL near Celine's lux Jupiter mansion that just so happens to include one amazing water park in the backyard that Celine and husband Rene Angelil had built especially for the enjoyment of their little ones. Celine was admitted to the medical facility earlier this month as a precaution.

Celine Dion reveals the names of her twins!

Celine Dion has revealed the names of her twins, along with some more sobering information that she was expecting triplets.

Celine Dion

Celine Dion has revealed the names of her brand new twin boys: Eddy and Nelson.

The names were drawn from a close friend and a world leader. Eddy Marnay produced Celine's first five albums, and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Nelson Mandela is a hero of Celine's.

Eddy and Nelson have joined nine-year-old brother Rene Charles at Celine's Jupiter, Florida compound, after leaving the hospital on Wednesday, but the singer has revealed she was supposed to have triplets. Sadly, she lost one.

"He chose to let go to give space to his brothers to grow," said the 42-year-old mom.

Celine has struggled for years to become -- and remain -- pregnant. Dion's twins were conceived after six rounds of in vitro and a miscarriage.

Celine plans to return to Las Vegas in March 2011 to begin a three-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Celine Dion has introduced the world to her baby boys, Eddy and Nelson. Celine and the twins grace the cover of Canada's Hello magazine and also welcomed People into their Jupiter Island, Florida mansion for a behind the scenes look at their life.

Celine Dion

Celine Dion's battle to get pregnant again has been no secret. Getting pregnant the first time wasn't easy and she felt lucky to have her son, Rene-Charles, nine, but ultimately, Dion decided to fight the fight again. That led to an IVF marathon and a very public heartbreak when she announced she was pregnant back in August 2009 and then miscarried.

Dion's struggles paid off, however. Dion and her hubby-manager Rene Angelil welcomed fraternal twin boys on October 23. Like many twins, the boys came prematurely and had to spend a few extra days in neonatal intensive care, but six weeks later, the Dion clan is showing off their new additions.

"The love and what I feel inside, what we have accomplished -- I don't know how to put it into words,"Dion told People. "It's bigger than life itself."

Dion and Angelil also had a bit of trouble coming up with names for their boys, but finally named the twins for their heroes, Eddy Mornay, the producer Dion teamed up with for her first five albums, and activist Nelson Mandela.

"They are very different," Dion told Hello. "Eddy is my smallest, very delicate and needs to be cuddled a lot. And Nelson is darker and very loud, in a good way. He's my bear, my big boy!"

Dion opens up to the magazines about life with her new boys and how little Rene-Charles is handling the responsibility of having two little brothers. She says she's looking forward to a quiet Christmas at home and a few months of quality mommy time before she gets back to work and starts preparing for her Las Vegas show, opening March 15.

Celine Dion talks twins

Celine Dion is talking about life with twins and the joys of motherhood the second time around.

Celine Dion

Celine Dion makes no bones about it: She's tired.

"I didn't have these children to not take care of them, to give myself to them 200, 300 percent," she told the French magazine Gala.

Celine gave birth to Eddy and Nelson in October and has been reveling in their infancy since.

"I am changing diapers and breastfeeding and that's something where no one can take my place. It's tiring but an intense joy."

"I take things day by day,"Dion added. "That's the secret to me. In any case, breastfeeding is more difficult if you are stressed. Sometimes I find myself in comical situations I don't know how to get myself out of. For example, when both are feeding and one has gas while the other is burping, I don't know which position to take!"

Celine also revealed her struggle with the baby blues. "Some of the first days after I came home, I was a little outside myself," she said. "I had no appetite and that bothered me. My mother remarked that she noticed I had moments of lifelessness, but reassured me that this was entirely normal."

She also experienced mood swings, telling the mag, "One moment, tremendous happiness; the next, fatigue sets in, and I cried for no reason, and then that took care of itself. It's for things like that after having a baby that mothers really need emotional support."

Celine will soon start lightly rehearsing for her March return to the stage in Vegas, but until then she's relishing every minute with her newly expanded family.

"My only worry has been to be able to open and close [my tops] quickly for breastfeeding. It's been out of the question to even wear a blouse!"

Celine Dion returns to Caesars!

After some at-home time with her new twins, Celine Dion is back on stage! The diva returned to Caesars Palace in Vegas this week, kicking off her three-year residency at the Caesars Palace Colosseum.

Celine Dion

Celine Dion's 2003 Vegas show, A New Day, ran 700 times, making Caesars the top-grossing venue on the Billboard charts for five years. After taking a year off for family time, Dion returned to the stage that was built for her on Tuesday, March 15.

Early reviews say the new Dion Vegas show dazzles. Robin Leach even called it "a magnificent masterpiece." The diva ditched the backup dancers from her last tour for 31 musicians and three backup singers, creating an intimate show that promises to capture the romance of old Hollywood films.

"With the orchestra and the band, we're going to be able to perform our songs like never before. The repertoire is going to be extraordinary...a mix of timeless Hollywood classics, along with all the favorites that my fans like to hear me sing," Dion previewed. "It's going to be a very beautiful show, and I think we'll be raising the bar higher than we've ever done before. There'll be some truly wonderful moments."

Among those moments -- and seven costume changes, a la Versace, Givenchy, Balmain and Elie Saab! -- fans can expect a duet with Stevie Wonder's hologram; a Michael Jackson salute and a peek at Dion's three children, Rene-Charles, 10, and the twins, Nelson and Eddy.

"The world knows I just had two more beautiful babies,"Dion said. "If I come here and I don't sing a lullaby or do not show one picture with my family, I think it's going to be missing something. I love to share my private life."

Watch for SheKnows' interview with Dion next week to get the full story on the show straight from the diva herself.

Shania Twain is headed back into the spotlight with a new reality show on OWN and a possible Las Vegas live show.

Shania Twain is out to claim 2011 as her comeback year. The country singer ruled the 90s with her brand of country/pop, but she took a break for most of the last decade.

Shania Twain show debuting May 8 on OWN

Now, Twain is set to retake the airwaves -- and maybe even Las Vegas -- in 2011. John Meglen, president of AEG, confirmed a possible Twain show

"The talks are ongoing," Meglen told the Las Vegas Sun earlier this week.

At least we'll have Twain on TV to tide us over until the ink dries on the Vegas deal. The singer's reality show on Oprah Winfrey's OWN is set to debut May 8 at 11 p.m..

"Why Not? with Shania Twain is the intimate portrait of country-pop music sensation Shania Twain on her emotional journey from heartbreak back to the top. This highly anticipated OWN original series is filled with revelation and unexpected adventure. Follow Shania as she heals, shares and rediscovers her voice," the the official OWN synopsis says.

Twain says working on her new show will help her through the pain she experienced after learning of her ex-husband Mutt Lange's affair with her close friend.

"I'm getting out on this tour and want to talk to people who have been through big disappointments, big emotional crises, deep life struggles... and I will learn something from that," Twain told Entertainment Tonight. "I will learn from listening. I will learn from experiencing. I will be inspired."

Stars like Gladys Knight and Celine Dion appeared at the Daytime Emmy Awards to present the Crystal Pillar Award to Oprah for her 25 years of daytime talk.

The 2011 Daytime Emmy Awards wouldn't really have been complete without some sort of tribute to Oprah Winfrey and her 25 years of talk. So, it was only appropriate that icons like Gladys Knight, Celine Dion, Ellen DeGeneres and protégés like Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil appeared to present Winfrey with the Crystal Pillar Award.

Oprah Winfrey honored by Celine Dion at the 2011 Daytime Emmys

Knight was first on stage.

"As the world knows, The Oprah Winfrey Show has come to an end," the legendary singer said. "Oprah, you may be off the air for now, but you will never, never be out of our hearts."

She then launched into a version of That's What Friends Are For that was intermixed with clips from The Oprah Winfrey Show.

"Oprah, thank you for being the dean of Oprah University and teaching me the fundamentals of hosting," Dr. Oz said.

Finally, Celine Dion ended the presentation live from her show at Caesars Palace with a rendition of her song Because You Loved Me.

"I'm honored to be able to participate in this wonderful tribute to my dear friend Oprah!" Dion said.

Yes, it was just as over-the-top as it seems -- especially since Oprah wasn't even there in person to accept the award.

"We are sorry we couldn't be there to celebrate," said Winfrey with her Harpo staff. "On behalf of the entire team, we thank you for honoring our show, we thank you for 25 years. This show has served as a platform to enlighten and entertain our millions of viewers... it has been a phenomenon that [none] of us could have imagined in our wildest dreams. None of this would have been possible without the support of the best team in television. Thank you!"

A man broke into Celine Dion’s Montreal home…to take a bath! Get all the bizarre details here, including who found him soaking in her tub.

Celine Dion

Daniel Bedard was arrested Monday after he was found inside of Celine Dion's Montreal home. The 36-year-old man jumped a fence onto her property, found a garage door opener in an unlocked car and got into her house.

He then ate some of her food and drew himself a "nice warmish bath," say Montreal police. Police arrived shortly after, after they were alerted by an alarm.

"The suspect was coming down the big staircase and was asking: 'Hey, guys what are you doing here?' So the officers replied, 'What are you doing here?' And they proceeded to put him under arrest,"said police spokesman Franco Di Genova.

This is one of three homes for the couple  while she performs in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace through 2014. Luckily, no one was home, including Celine and her three children, who were in Montreal when the break-in occurred.

Bedard was charged with breaking and entering, auto theft and causing property damage. No word if the man knew he was breaking into Celine Dion's house – or if he was just looking for a snack and a warm bath.

Celine Dion cancels Vegas shows, vocal rest

As John Mayer and Adele are recovered, another artist is sentenced to vocal rest: Celine Dion cancels ten Vegas shows after being diagnosed with a weakened vocal cord.

Celine Dion cancels Vegas shows

If you're heading to Las Vegas anytime soon to catch Celine Dion in concert, you better reschedule your travel plans. The singer has just been diagnosed with weakness in her right vocal cord, causing her to cancel ten performances of her resident show at Caesars Palace's Colosseum.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dion first experienced difficulties with her voice last week, causing her to cancel a few performances. She then flew to Los Angeles yesterday to be examined by Gerald Berke at UCLA Medical Center, a leading international authority on laryngeal physiology.

"I tried to sing at my sound check last week, and I had no control of my voice whatsoever,"Celine Dion said in a statement. "We thought that after a few days rest I would improve, but it wasn't getting any better… I guess it was worse than I thought."

Her diagnosis -- weakness in her right vocal cord and secondary to a viral illness -- requires six to eight weeks of voice rest.

"[Berke] identified what was causing the problems I was having, and he assured me that with the amount of rest he prescribed, I would be back to 100 percent." she continued. "Obviously, this is the worst thing for a singer, not being able to do your shows. I feel worse knowing that I'm disappointing my fans. I'm so sorry, I hope they forgive me."

Dion is scheduled to return to the Colosseum stage on June 9, with her next round of performances through Aug. 19. Mark your calendars!

Celine Dion

Less than a month after being ordered on complete vocal rest by her doctors, Celine Dion is ready to rock again.

"Celine Dion received good news last week during her follow-up examination with Professor Gerald Berke at the UCLA Medical Clinic," a rep for the singer said in a statement. "The rest that Professor Berke prescribed allowed Celine's vocal chords [sic] to recover from their weakened state and it is expected that she'll be back to 100% within four weeks time."

"Celine is scheduled to start working with her vocal coach Dr. William Riley in two weeks and will begin recording songs for her new English and French albums sometime in mid-April," the statement continued. "Celine returns to perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Las Vegas on Saturday, June 9."

Man breaks into Celine Dion's home, takes bath>>

Dion herself spoke up to thank her fans for helping her through yet another vocal crisis, "During this recovery period, so many fans, many of whom were inconvenienced by the canceled shows, have posted kind words of encouragement on my website. I'm so grateful for their thoughts and their support… more than they'll ever know," she said.

The singer had been sidelined by a strained vocal cord at the end of February. "Obviously, this is the worst thing for a singer, not being able to do your shows," she said at the time. "I feel worse knowing that I'm disappointing my fans. I'm so sorry, I hope they forgive me."

Want to catch Celine on your next trip to Vegas? You'll have to wait until June. Her next run begins June 9 and wraps August 19. Get tickets at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Box Office, www.thecolosseum.com or by calling 877-4-CELINE.

Kate Winslet: My barf will go on

$

Kate Winslet is so over Celine Dion and that hauntingly annoying Titanic theme song "My Heart Will Go On" -- so much so that it makes her want to barf!

Kate Winslet

The first time you heard it, it made you want to cry. The 80th time you heard it it made you want to smash your car radio to pieces. Celine Dion's theme from Titanic, "My Heart Will Go On," was everywhere when the movie was first released, and now that Titanic 3D is back 16 years later, so are memories of the epic ballad.

Just don't play it around Kate Winslet. Whenever this Oscar-winning actress hears those pan flutes, she wants to puke.

"I do feel like throwing up,"Winslet told MTV News. "I wish I could say 'Oh listen, everybody! It's the Celine Dion song!' But I don't. I just have to sit there, you know, kind of straight-faced with a massive internal eye roll."

"Every time I go into a bar in a hotel where there's a live pianist, or into a restaurant where they're changing their music according to who walks into the door, it's thrilling for people to 'surprise me' with that song."

It gets worse: Sometimes people actually want her to sing it. "I did a talk show recently in Italy and they actually had a live pianist who started gently playing the theme song," she said. "I was not even gently, rather severely, urged to go and sing it as though I had in fact sung it myself in the first place. It was like, 'No! I'm not going to do that.' They're like, 'Oh no, come on it will be funny.' No, it won't be funny. At all. And I'm not going to."

Kate Winslet on Titanic 3D: "Make it stop!">>

It's not just the song that haunts her. Despite a body of work filled with another 16 years worth of critically-acclaimed films, the Titanic jokes still follow her everywhere she goes.

"Honestly, I actually now get onto boats and say, 'No jokes, OK? No jokes. Can we just move on from that? And if you have any jokes, let's just get them out of the way right now. Thank you. Anyone? Jokes, jokes? OK, moving on.' And then they still tell jokes," Winslet told MTV.

But of course it's not all bad -- the film did shoot her straight into superstardom with the ability to pick and choose pretty much any script she wanted -- and she's delighted that so many people love the movie that the rerelease is even possible.

"What's negative about it? Really, nothing at all," she said. "It's very different and much more present. It's bigger -- if you can believe that -- but it is and you really do feel like you're in it."

See Kate Winslet and cringe at the Celine Dion song again when Titanic 3D hits theaters April 4.

Dion and Blasberg meet in June while Celine prepares for her glamorous Las Vegas show at the Colosseum in Caesar's Palace,  which Blasberg notes, was "built specifically for the icon in 2003." Dion's dressing room is filled with "super fans, big spenders from the casino, contest winners, and young people suffering from terminal illnesses." Celine Dion greets and talks to each person with a sincerity thought to be uncommon in the land of A-list stars and icons.

The sexy photos from a playful photo shoot with V Magazine will undoubtedly shock many of Celine Dion's admirers. Dion reveals the racy photos were liberating for her -- a chance for fans to catch a glimpse of Celine's multi-dimensional personality.

"I'm like this in my real life," she says. "I was scared a little bit because this is so different for me, but I'm glad I did it. Usually there's always a reason when I do a photo shoot, there's not the opportunity to go crazy. With this it was two in the morning and I was still jumping on the trampoline. In the house, in my normal life, we are always playing. It doesn't seem this way on stage, but I'm playing a lot."

You can check out the full interview with Celine Dion in V Magazine's latest issue on sale Aug. 30. We were able to nab some behind-the-scenes footage of Celine Dion taken during her sexy photo shoot. And yes, Celine Dion is topless in the video.
